This project explores the art of Japanese Notan, a design technique that emphasizes the balance between light and dark. Through a series of intricate paper cutouts, I created compositions that play with symmetry, contrast, and negative space. The key to Notan is finding harmony in opposition, and my designs demonstrate this by carefully arranging shapes to create a dynamic interplay of black and white. Each piece has a unique pattern, yet they all share a sense of balance and rhythm. This project showcases my ability to work with minimal elements to create visually striking designs that draw the eye and invite reflection.
